Bailey's Thoughts #1: Crying is Strength How many times have you heard people say that crying is a sign of weakness? It’s a definition that the world has unfortunately programmed into the minds of many. I’m here to completely change your view on this seemingly synonymous statement.
I know most of you are thinking, “What? Of course crying is a sign of weakness! It’s an emotional response to a stressful situation and happens when the person can’t handle the circumstances.” No, crying is nothing more than an emotion response, nothing more, nothing less. Because if this were true, all humans would be weak. “Oh he’s laughing at the joke, he’s expressing joy in this situation because he can’t handle, can't contain his happiness.” You might as well tell me feeling anything at all is weak.

PicturesqueThe smell of the fire curls in my lungs, purring
like a tabby kitten. Roasting marshmallows
crisp on the ends of our sticks as I lean
against you, our heat mingling like the smoke
rising to the sky. Your eyes twinkle as you talk,
your hands gesturing widely, and the marshmallow

I filed them away with good
intentions, missed opportunities,

in a jar, to keep for a rainy day
like the ones you used to love
(like the me you used to love).

away on the wind,
like your words
of farewell on the last day I saw you.
I can't remember the shape of

the p r e c i s e way you wouldn't let
go of your
